Hi there Before they die out, I would like to get me a car with a small V8 under the bonnet. A pre-owned, relatively recent model with acceptable mileage, well equipped, for a reasonable price, is what I have in mind. What do you think of a Jaguar S-Type? Experience, things to especially watch for, known weaknesses... All your comments are very welcome and appreciated Sunny greetings, Ivo

Nice car, but I will keep my Moggie. The other one will be a "tin-roof-car" a coupé, sedan, or a station wagon.

I would keep away from anything Jaguar personally. S type is a soggy old sausage and they hurt my eyes
I recently bought an 04 SL55 AMG and its just like I remember.
Brutal power and fantastic noise....good value too

Ivo,
Slightly crude but with bags of personality, the S197 Mustang GT is a lot of fun and the V8 has a great note.
An older Mercedes with the V8 500 engine is another good choice. Found in various models but the 500 SEC would be a superb buy.
I'll put my thinking cap on and see what else I can come up with.
