Wondering if someone can tell me how to diagnose a check engine light on my 2015 Morgan 3 Wheeler. I have tried to look for something like a Diagnostic Link Connector(DLC) such as on cars with the OBD-II connector, but cannot find anything. Is there a scanner for this system?
The car still runs well and would like to fix any issue before there is a bigger problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need the S & S Protune software installed on a PC and USB lead to connector (behind tiny cover) on ECU to gain access.

My 2003+ 8 has only about 5650 miles, been excellently maintained by previous owner, who obviously hadn't drive in much. I've only driven it 150 miles in short trips since purchasing it last December. The 'check engine' light just came on last night, as I was driving, but the car runs fine, all gauges are where they should be. I did check the fuel cap (as my Range Rover's had to be replaced) but no luck. I will take it to a local mechanic who has worked on some Morgans, but I'd or scanner also like to buy a relatively inexpensive BD reader or scanner, but don't know where to begin, particularly with the old 4-litre engine. I've read here that it is fitted with the GEMS system. Any recommendations from you experts would be much appreciated.

The GEMS system is quite different and was fitted for a relatively short period in the V8's life. There is a lot of information on the GOMOG site where Lorne tackles it in some detail including scanning fault codes. I'd suggest you have a look there. Lorne is also very happy to answer questions directly and this I feel will be a good shortcut for setting you on the road of understanding.

My 2002 Gems Plus8 had the light come on occasionally. My Autel Maxiscan OBD tester showed a " random intermittent misfire" fault. Engine ran well. I used it to clear the fault code/light but it occasionally came back. The Gems system has a stats type package that monitors these types of faults and when the data hits a trigger point it lights the MIL. Random electrical...GRRRR. Lots of checks done including the live running option but everything appeared ok. In the end I stuck to V-Power 97 octane and the light stopped coming on. I noticed it triggering a couple of times after filling with 95 octane so as other checks didn't show a reason I thought I'd try the petrol change. Out on a run I accelerated out of a petrol station after a fill with 95 octane and the light came on. This got me thinking of switching to 97 octane as a test. It worked. I also got a small mpg increase.
Definitely look at gomog. The Plus8 specific section has a lot of helpful info. You can get OBD Apps for your smartphone that work well. Not expensive and a big aid for fault finding.

The OP has a 5 speed Morgan three wheeler with S & S V twin engine. Its doesn't use OBD2 protocol.
