Almost seduced into this Williams special Supersport(saved by someone reserving it) only the colour (Porsche Viola) gave pause for thought. The brain cell that determines colour preference favours blue, specifically when it comes to Morgans, ‘Ferrari Le Mans Blue’. Got me to thinking maybe it’s time that brain cell got over ruled when it comes to the next car. Informally compiling a short list now but new order not imminent- liking this Ferrari colour for starters. Rosso Tramonto (Red Sunset) it’s called ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/08/14/IMG_3408.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/08/14/IMG_0429.jpeg)

Clipper, saw that car on Wednesday. Yes, it was very tempting. The original 'owner' has opted for a S400. Are you saying it's now sold? It was at £139,000 or thereabouts ... that's a lot of dosh.

Best colour reminds me of the following: Back in the 19th century when narrow work boats moved heavy and fragile goods via Britains canals, their back cabins were often painted in a variety of bright colours usually allied to the companies that owned and ran them. One such major player was Fellows, Morton and Clayton who eventually decided upon a a red, green and yellow livery to promote their company. Given the quality of paint available in those days it was noted that red was the first to fade with the ageing effects of rain and sunlight so the ideal shade was sort to minimise fade and named "best red". My own modern version followed their paint scheme with licence for a slightly brighter red. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/WWGVww6T/IMG-4049.jpg)

The FM&C boats were known as "Joshers". This is Basford which my parents owned until 2010 when they gave up boating at 80. Dad chose a builder who could produce a good looking bow shape reminiscent of a Josher. He did the full fit out himself. Love to know where it is now. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/08/15/IMG_3726.jpg)
