I was looking through the Summit Racing catalog; there might be parts shared with V8 engines. I noticed similarities regarding the hydraulic lifters (same diameter) and piston rings, and possibly the valve springs. I'm currently trying to find information on the crankshaft bearings—specifically, metric dimensions for the main bearings and imperial (inch) sizes for the connecting rod bearings.

They all have the same 0.842-inch diameter as the X-Wedge; the height without the roller is 53.4 mm (56.6 mm with the roller), and the ground height for sliding contact is 38.5 mm.

I am sure that S&S used parts from other large production engines in the X-Wedge, why wouldn't you for a low production engine rather than making unique parts? S&S don't seem to be keen to release this information, even though they don't support the engine now. I suppose that trawling through the parts catalogues is the only way? Good luck GLLOQ and if you feel like sharing your finds I will be very happy to add them to the Alternative Parts List.

When I had my cylinder heads off when replacing the lower housing for the pushrod tubes, I noticed the strong resemblance of the combustion chamber and valve gear to the big block Chevys of my muscle car youth. So if the valves, valve springs, rocker arms and lifters are not direct copies of GM parts, they certainly seem inspired by them.

MMC are having some parts remanufactured. I understand full engine gasket sets and pistons are available and crankshaft bearings are on order. Hopefully there may be other parts coming.

The gasket sets are not very good, the pistons are only available in std size and are very expensive and I'm very hopeful that the crankshaft/main journal bearings become available but I'll believe it when I see it...
Oil pumps are also available...for a high price....

It all makes my fully 'off the shelf' rebuilt engines look a bargain at the moment.

Are MMC supplying standard size new barrels, at a bargain price, to go with the expensive standard size pistons? If not it's pretty pointless. How much for a rebuilt "off the shelf" X-Wedge currently Steve? They could well be a bargain but limited stock I guess?

Unless we get some realistic spares supply lined up for these engines we will be in a worse situation than the JAP and Matchless guys with the old M3W are. The electronics are not so bad, the sensors are all HD compatible items that will be around for some time because of that. The ECU can be substituted with something such as an Emerald. The mechanical engine bits are a concern in the longer term, unless substitute or equivalents can be found.

Standard size barrels only - no crinkle black available but when it was available it was £1385.00 +VAT - each...not sure about polished barrels availability.
So a new standard size barrel (if available) and piston will set you back around £1900.00 + VAT

I am able to supply oversized piston's (+20").

Fully rebuilt engines are between £6000-£7000 (dependant on rebuild specification) and are on an exchange basis only.

Brand New black crinkle engines are £15000.00, again on an exchange basis only.
