Totnes & South Hams Tyre Services in Dartington, just fitted two front tyres to my wire wheels, just make sure they know the pressure you require or it will be 30Psi. Balance is fine! Regards John K

PS. I took my wheels in, as with any tyre fitter just make sure they know the jacking point(s)

Richard at Totnes and South Hams Tyres knows all about them - been with them 20 years wires on a 4/4 Sport and MMC LIghtweight Centrelock alloys on my Plus 8., He started off in the RHD Unit but quickly spread to the next door one and has two mobile lorry and Tractor tyre vans on the road.

He put a couple on the rear of the Sport earlier this year, I get them to do it outside (balancer inside) as there are some gradients to encounter in the workshop and they hand you the spanner for a tightness check and always ask you for the psi you want dialed in and they ask you to show them the jacking points.

They are a totally professional outfit and do tractors on farm so well use to agricultural Morgana...

I found that some of the more modern all “singing and dancing” balancing machines come up with wheel mounting errors when the balancing cones are used, as the electronics think that the wheel is not mounted correctly against the backplate. I use a local outfit who thankfully still have an older machine in use.
Some companies will balance without cones and sometimes are lucky to get away with it, if the wheel is in excellent trim, but for a proper job, cones are essential.
