Just to add to this. My wife has a recent Apple Macbook (I don't like it myself, but there it is). Tonight it just popped up a message about compromised passwords. It then listed about a dozen sites in which it stated that the passwords were compromised and a few in which it stated that the site itself had had a data breach (Fuga di dati, in Italian).

Now I suspect that the password compromised message probably means that the same password was used on one of the sites that had a data breach, not necessarily that the site concerned has had a data breach. I am now not able to see which sites had a data breach because, on the Macbook, once the notice has been read and closed it disappears and there does not seem to be a way of re-viewing it. The stored passwords security system only shows sites with passwords it believes are compromised.

The long and the short of this is that because I had used her computer it had stored the password I use on Talk Morgan and showed it as compromised. I have now changed my password on Talk Morgan.

If, by chance, you use the same password on your mail account as you do on forum or any other accounts you are really risking your email being accessed which, in turn, could allow other more important accounts to be accessed. This may explain how some people have had their email accounts accessed. Lots of supposedly secure sites will send a One Time Pin to the email account it has registered. You see the problem. If you have used the same password on you mail as on any other account it is really important to change the password now!

Email and important accounts should all have unique passwords.

Thank you Peter, point taken you are so right as it's exactly what I have done in the past.

I'm sorry that Alis has had similar hassles to deal with.
