So today I had a good look under the bonnet of my recently acquired 4/4 Duratec. Spent a couple of hours making up some brackets and re-routing hoses etc.. I don’t like to see them bunched up and cable tied to hot pipes and wiring. All too jammed in for my liking. Looks a lot tidier now and some airflow around things. Cable ties are good at what they do but look so make do to me.
Also fitted a charger lead, fire extinguisher, oiled the wing beading and door fittings etc..
At some point I’m going to have to replace the windscreen, there’s lots of pitting which in direct sun make it almost opaque! Anyone know where best to source one?

Steve, the heated 'screens are only available via MMC dealers as the manufacturer is under an NDA and won't supply direct

Well today’s job was to sort out the running board strips on my 4/4. I had spotted the tell tale ‘bumps’ along the strips that happen when the bolt heads corrode and didn’t want it getting worse and making it more difficult to rectify. The near side was easy, using stainless fixings with nylon washers either side. The drivers side took three times longer as the silencer runs close making access to the nuts far more difficult. In the end I removed the silencer fixings allowing me to turn it to create more room. Dabbed some ACF50 around things so hopefully it’s sorted for a while.
Not on the Morgan but my other job for today was to pull the engine out of my Velocette Venom.. it has stripped its timing gears so unfortunately I need to go right through it to make sure bits of hardened steel gear teeth are gone. It’s a heavy lump to wrestle out of the frame in one go!
