There is an interesting article in the latest edition of The Automobile (October) which suggests that the move could be to Beaulieu's benefit. "A slightly smaller but more focused museum could be more interesting to the general public and more attractive to the enthusiast."
The National Motor Museum Trust, on the other hand, need to find somewhere to go. Merging with an existing museum, such as Gaydon, seems unlikely as they are all already full with their own collections. The costs of setting up somewhere new will be sky-high.

I popped in to the Museum last Sunday while I was at the Autojumble. It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderful cars and automobilia are on display in the Museum. As for the Autojumble, I thought it was something of a disppointment this year, although some of the stallholders reckoned that Saturday was the better trading day. On the Sunday, there were a few cars that had evidently sold the previous day. I only saw one transaction taking place at a stall, and it was rather sad to see many sellers offering e.g. "any two items in this box for £1", still clear it out and don't take it home if you have come a long way.

I’ve attended the Beaulieu a/j for the last 45 years with the exception of the Covid year. Over the last 4 or 5 years I’ve noticed a steady decline in size, the empty pitches, less and less foreign visitors, hardly any cars for sale, high prices and disgruntled vendors and not even an auction this year. I find rather sad. Will it continue????
