Now that the motor industry is global, I wonder if the US brands make cars with metric fastenings now?
Does anyone know?

The Ford Cyclone engine and German designed Ford MT82 gearbox in my Roadster both use metric fittings. Ford have built such for nearly twenty years. The 3 litre Duratec V6 used in the first Roadsters, being developed by Porsche and Cosworth, not surprisingly also used metric fittings when adopted by Ford in 1996. In fact the switch from SAE to metric fittings in mainstream US car brands started as early as 1973! It took Morgan another 46 years before they fully adopted metric fittings throughout their cars though

Any of my US cars for the last 30 years at least have metric fittings. Why the company does not switch to the full metric system I'll never know.

I have 4 Morgans.
My 2005 Roadster is Metric
My 1951 Plus 4 is SAE
My 1938 4/4 is Whitworth
My 1934 Trike is Whitworth
Tools, yes I have tools!! Lot of tools!!

I stand to be corrected, but aren't most brake pipe fittings still BSP, even on stuff like BMW?

Mark Yep, with you on the tools - Kawasaki - 100% Metric, although have JIS screws Morgan - mixture of Imperial and Metric MGB - Fully imperial. Harleys - predominantly Imperial but the occasional Metric bolt just to make things interesting. And BSP brake fittings in all but the Kawasaki.
