At Last - I am Gradually getting my act together. I made and fitted some 'DaveW Designed' Rear Wheel Arch Stone Guards today. Not as sophisticated as Dave's but easy to make and fit and should do the job for me if If I find myself on stony roads on the journey. Did not even need to take off the wheels. Made from Undersealed Fibre Board with Wicks Flashing attached + Plastic Backing Sheet taken from an old A4 Folder, Nuts & Bolts, Penny Washers. Old Rubber matting. Just need to cover the Nuts & Bolts and washers with some Waxoil. Also I have just had my Two 'Nipple Centre' Remote Greasing Kits delivered so that is the next job. I hope it goes as well as Robbies original. This should ease the 5 Greasing sessions needed along the way.

Follow my progress on the journey on Twitter as I learn to master the Iphone with big thanks to Alistair. . https://twitter.com/#!/Frank4x4 I spent all day yesterday on another steep learning curve fitting the Remote Greasing Kit from The Nipple Shop. A big thanks to Robbie Syme for his great post and photos on the subject which guided me along the way . The hardest part was getting the wheels off after my last service. The MG Spanner gave me a nose bleed and would not shift them so had to resort to the Rubber mallet which was soooo easy.

Thanks Robbie, Now there was I thinking that my biggest challenge as I go forth would be how long my back & bum would hold out. Reading the Mail today it looks like the Tanker Drivers may be giving me a touch of the 'collywobbles' as well

Fund Raising for Help for Heroes at Sainsbury's Beaconsfield 27/3/12 I had a fantastic day today fundraising with the very generous customers at Sainsbury's Store in Maxwell Road, Beaconsfield. The 'Two for £2' Advert nearby prompted a few wags to ask for the car keys rather than the wristband. Together we raised a phenomenal £243.40. The support for Help for Heroes is is so strong with many donators being appreciative of the work our troops do in these dangerous times and places, two of whom have sons who are currently serving in Afghanistan. The car was dressed with stickers ready for the trip and I added to suitcase and banner for authenticity of how we will appear on the journey. This attracted much interest among from everyone who passed by on the way to and from the car park. While I will be repeating the occasion at Sainsbury's Beaconsfield on 4th April, a big thank you to the Management Team at Sainsbury's and particularly, Charities Co-ordinator Beverley Knight (herself a successful Help for Heroes fundraiser) for allowing me to be there and for making the day go so smoothly. http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/storeloc...m=store_detailsThe best Photo of the day for me is of the lovely group of 'Fans' from the senior year at Alfriston School Beaconsfield who were also visiting the store this morning decided to surround the car and admire its beauty. The Teacher with the girls allowed me to take and post the photo. http://www.alfriston.bucks.sch.uk/ Best Wishes Frank

Its April 1st, anniversary of the Falklands conflict (BBC2 9pm). And its April Fools Day . Two extremes to ponder over Well, how do we all feel about the Fuel situation? I am still hoping to go on the 10th but hanging on to hear which way the rhetoric will go during the week. My thoughts are where or what what should I do will the 'Mog' if I do go and then get stuck? The Blog is up and running for anyone interested enough to follow my progress which I will try and update daily. http://franks4x4-solograndetour.blogspot.co.uk/ Miscellany arrived and at last a few words on my challenge in the editors comments. Still not a word in the center secretaries reports though. (even nothing from Thames Valley (where I am supposed to be a member), despite my protestations on the matter and posting my own event notice on the new TV website. So there is one Car Badge and Polo Shirt which wont be making any further appearances!!) The original idea was to drum up more support but more importantly to let members know that I would be passing through their areas. That was a waste of time. Without the fantastic support from all of you here at Talk Morgan, for which I am truly grateful, my fundraising performance would be well and truly stuffed (to use the colloquial). The Bmycharity total is currently £1836.50 with a potential extra £334.12 from Gift Aid. My street collection so far with two more days to go is 248.40 and the Waddesdon bookings, which David Harris is collecting on my behalf, are in excess of £700.00. A Fantastic Amount for which Help for Heroes are very grateful.

Hi Frank, you're doing a great job. I would not worry about the fuel strike until and if it happens. Although I don't have a tanker or a trailer to offer you practical support I am sure lots of us on here will be following your epic journey.
One thought regarding the fuel. Are you a member of the AA or RAC? Would they be willing to provide you with some practical support during you trip?
Keep going.

Many of the garages near us have fuel again today. The tankers have said they will not strike over the bank holiday weekend. I nearly got stranded on Friday, during moments like this 18-20mpg takes a different tone.
I am rather sad that the other clubs have not offered you support. It seems so odd given the generally good nature and very good cause involved. Is there an email address that notes of support can be sent to ?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
