The logo shouldn't be a problem. Some of you use old number plates. Those who don't like the new wings can fit old wings. Roderich I am not sure that will be possible..unless the Company changes its mind. They trademarked the old wings 2 years ago and have been quite agressive since in tracking and controlling its usage.The advisory states that "This will be the single Wings version we will be using from now on.", though they indicate a gradual transition period from now to Geneva 2008. On one of the many debates raging on this subject on DG's the issue of potential BMW involvement with Morgan has been raised. Indeed with legislation as it is perhaps Morgan need a big technology partner to help like BMW.  I thought the same as soon as someone pointed out the simmilarity to the Mini logo.  If it is true and Morgan are to develop a Trad bodied but Aero chassis car then it raises the issue of who/how do you market it? To Aero owners, to Trad owners or to a whole new market? If it's a new market then you might need to look at how it's branded. Just a thought Phil, IMHO, the most important shareholders (Quant family) will not allow to buy a company that produces 600 cars/year. What for? What could THEY gain? Had forgotten to mention that BMW still owns the 'Riley' trademark - and doesn't use it. If they wanted to built British Sportscar they could use it but I assume they haven't forgotten the MG Rover deal:-(  Roderich

Just a thought I do not believe so. The BMW comments indicate more about their writers' feelings about BMW than anything about Morgan. I cannot see BMW insisting on a logo change and, despite CM's respect for them, anyone at Morgan listening if they did. BMW, a cutting edge technological company, clings closely to its old logo. That does not suggest that they would want Morgan to abandon theirs. It seems a father/son thing. Best to look the other way. Lorne

If you turn your back on your past you are in danger of negatively affecting the future. Morgan rely on their heritage and this modernised logo seems to miss that.

Guys,
I believe MMC have rarely done a good job of branding or marketing the company AND yet the cars have still sold (and for the most part sold well). Therefore, while I do not like the new logo - it is a bastardised post-modern stylised of a logo that is already strong, steeped in tradition and doesn't require an overhaul - I do not believe it will adversly effect sales.
As Trent has said, it would be unwise to move too far away from tradition as it had served the company well up to this point (almost 100-years!). I'm all for organic improvement but this logo seems change for the sake of it.

This new logo looks like it's more orientated towards CNC machine production rather than the traditional cast badges....
Could this just be down to higher demand requring differing production technique's to meet the production quota. Possibly cost reduction as well...
