This is a disappointing extra...the bonnet strap. Its bolted to the bonnet itself......sorry...."bonnet", so is hardly a restraint! It really needs to be mounted on a pair of those nice vintage strap brackets ( Footman Staples) bolted to the body.

I think all that strap would do is destroy the paint on the bonnet. I won't be having one for sure.

I've lived with it for a day and its wrong, but by the same token I'm not keen on either the number plate or the bare ends of the chassis rails. I'm going to put the plate back on but in black. Anyone got any other ideas that might be worth a try?

Since no front plate is required in Michigan, I was thinking of attaching one of the polished silver-metal Morgan badges that goes on the back of the Trads to the black plate mount. That is if I can't get that black and white plate that says MORGAN on it.

I have taken my front plate mount off and just put two button head allen bolts into the threaded inserts in the chassis tubes.

By the way these inserts are now turning in the tubes, not quite sure what I'm going to do with these. They would appear to be stainless steel inserts, very difficult to pull tight when installing. I tried to pull them tighter with a bolt but was unable to stop them from turning.

I was also thinking of black plastic caps over the tube ends and black plastic nut covers over some of the suspension nuts & bolts. I have done this on my sidecar outfit and it finishes it off quite well.

I have tried it with the front plate on and off, it looks better off.

I had looked at something similar bu the diameters are wrong, I've also thought about mounting a cricket or snooker ball in the end, trouble is nothing obvious works.

Might need to find a metal fabricators and get something turned out of ali
