Thanks Dave. Think I'm going to order one of those - assuming I can "lose" it under one of the seats. Is that one of John Taylor's finest?

Yes it is.
The small one fits easily behind the seats on the floor. The big one needs more space, but fits on the shelf behind the seats with plenty of room left.

Just for info, John has just measured my M3W to make a similar cover for the ThreeWheeler (and the Aero SS too, which will also fit the AeroMax!).

Watch his site as they should be ready soon. Apologies for the thread divert...

Brian,

Whats the likely cost, and more importantly will it roll into a stuff bag and is John supplying one?

Hopefully the bag will have a strip of velcro stitched on the outside so you can fix some velcro on the passenger bulkhead / foot well to keep it out of the way, but easy to access.

Just a thought wink

A couple of weeks back I lowered the hood for the first time since buying the car last Oct, previous Sports had 9 stud hood so this was my initiation into easy- ups. No real need for a tonneau or a hood cover, the head rests, belts and side screens are in the way for the former and the easy-upness would be lost if I had to wrestle with the latter.
If I am honest the 9 stud stowed and no side screens looks better from an aesthetic view point than easy- up lowered sans side screens but because my wife dislikes being buffeted I tend to keep the side screens on anyway. laugh

Any chance you have a photo of your tonneau cover (covering the hood)? I have also ordered the tonneau and are curious how it will look. thinking

Thanks!

No idea John, once the other John T does his sums he'll no doubt let me know and I'll post on here! I might mention that I have no connection with his business other than as a satisfied customer in the past.

I'll pass on your suggestion regarding the carry bag, as I think it is a good one. incidentally, your old Aero was used to measure for his Aero cover and the photos are still up on his web site.

Cheers
Brian

Not just Easy-Up hoods that seem to shrink either.
Took 45 minutes to fit my twillfast/canvas hood on Good Friday morning - all because Madame wouldn't travel with hood down.
Last time it was used was 9 months ago.
Never mind, my nails will grow back rofl

I was nearly going to try it on the other day. The car is having its first service at the moment and the forcast is for a week of rain. As soon as I can I will take some photos of the car, hood up, hood down and covered, hood down and covered with the tonneau, the interior, and finally the luggage and the case strapped on in the way Nick showed me at the factory.

This photo shows the hood cover and the suitcase (with cover) and straps but does not show either very well. Nick told me that the elastic parts of the straps pass either side of the "slots" at the bottom of the rack. not through them.

I think that the tonneau cover when not in use can be left over the hood and then tucked down behind the seats, but I am not sure. The end result would be that from behind it would look very similar to the hood cover.

The problem with leaving the full tonneau on Peter and tucking down behind the seats is that it interferes with the seat belts. With very careful folding you might get away with it but I could never fathom it out! A pity as I like using the tonneau half done up when I drive the car without side screens. I've just picked up a mohair half tonneau from Allon White today which I prefer to a hood cover and it also nicely covers the luggage in the car without interfering with the seat belts.
