Hmm! I hadn't considered the problem of the seat belts. We have experienced it with a full load of luggage so I know what you mean. Perhaps it may be possible to roll it under and then secure it with a couple of webbing straps similar to securing a sail on the boom. What do you think?

I fit my tonneau whenever the hood is stowed; either to cover the space behind the front seats (when with the lovely Lady Budster), or as a half tonneau when driving alone. The tonneau can then be used to cover up the seats when parked. This works either with or without the sidescreens in place.
You do need to spend a bit of time ensuring the seatbelts are not snagged either by the tonneau or any luggage being carried.

The problem with leaving the full tonneau on Peter and tucking down behind the seats is that it interferes with the seat belts. With very careful folding you might get away with it but I could never fathom it out! An explanation of how to fold the tonneau so it does not obstruct the seat belts can be found here.

As soon as I can I will take some photos of the car, hood up, hood down and covered, hood down and covered with the tonneau, the interior, and finally the luggage and the case strapped on in the way Nick showed me at the factory. Great, I am looking forward to that transformer episode

Post Photobucket reboot from April 2012The full tonneau is a right P.I.T.A, and I've only used it once, for that reason - making the belts stick. There are those who say that with careful folding it can be made to work, but I don't like having to take the headrestraints off either. So my favoured method is either a short storm cover, or the full storm cover if the weather is particularly wet. Small: (Hood down) 2017 Note - although this image shows the small cover with the roof down, I'm a bit more circumspect these days and usually put the hood up. The storm cover is pretty watertight but leaving it like this on a wet night is tempting fate! The rectangular shape at the rear is the windstop.  Full: (Hood up)  Who says my Roadster never gets wet............

The problem with the tonneau making the seatbelts stick is solved by having the 3 zip conversion , It is then much easier to neatly fold it .

Hood up (mostly) when the car is in the garage, this keeps the fabric stretched and means that when needed it is easy to put up.
As a bonus, it keeps the cats out of the car!
