Shame you are not bringing the mog because 15 mile away from Thirsk there is a elderly chap who has a one man garage been doing Webers since he was a lad talks about them in his sleep . My late pal Tom F. , a take no prisoners Jock who spoke his mind warned me of a garage near to him he used to race a +4 2L Fiat engine with twin Webers . It was by chance I was in the Blackwell Ox having a bite to eat that I got chatting to a chap with a TR 4A . We chatted about mogs and he got on about Tom , he used to set it up for him. Must be good or Tom would not have given him his pride and joy . We where at Beamish when Tom threw me his keys " its not pulling well go and have a drive see what you think " I shot up the long hill to Stanley changing from 2nd gear into 3rd I smashed my knuckles on his dash . Returned and told Tom its not pulling as it should , then pointed out my bleeding knuckles . " Don't worry you only do it once". I said he was a hard Jock , we got stuck in the mog was only pulling on 3 cylinders . A happy Lad once it started to pull . The best one was one Sat m/ing he called at my home with a sad face , he was going to go with his wife to Olivers Mount Scarborough to see if he could win the hill climb . What's up with the face Tom his bracket had gone on the mog exhaust . I went into my garage and brought out 2 new ones ( I keep spares ) . "Here take them", "how much", "bugger off you are a mate and I don't take money off a mate " . I thought he was going to run over to his car and do the highland fling one happy chap.

Tom looking forward to seeing you on Sunday the mog is not on the road till 1st April or you could have had a ride in it . A warning although you are from the USA and work in Pisa you are coming to the frozen North so pack some warm clothes you may get a SHOCK . Locals dont feel it I wear short sleeve shirts in Oct ie. there is a Colombian lady who married a local chap working on the oil rigs and she wears thermals in the summer.

Well what a w/end Tom sent me an E-mail he would be seeing the Flying Scotsman in Pickering on Sunday and I had arranged to meet up . So its off to Whitby a walk about when Junes mobile goes , its Tom and he is in Pickering . Set off over the North York moor , oddly the bracken was on fire in places with huge trails of smoke in the area that has train lines . So I did wonder has F/Scot broken down till I got onto the top , along with road works and huge traffic jams . Walked around the station must have given Tom a good mental image of me as he walked over and said "John " as he stuck his hand out , I was expecting a very tall person ( don't know why ) . Food came into our chat ( as its all mog owners talk about after mogs ). He loves Yorkshire Pudding and roast beef + a large pot of tea , yes that blew me away to . So we took him to the Lion Inn Blakey ridge on the moors ( the one mogs use ) . I jumped in his hire car and off. Bought Tom a pint shandy Theakstons Old P ( he was driving ) . He cleaned the lunch plate , I left several large slices of turkey ( I know dont shout ) . Headed for home as we said Tom could stay the night going over the moors had taken his breath away very very little traffic , if only he had his mog think he loves them. Arrived home and he wants to look at my mog to get some ideas so its out into the garage a long time gave him a mahogany s/wheel centre with the old mog wings on . I think he likes my mog . A good bit of chat but he had been up since 4 am and I or should I say we talk to much . So we showed him his room , shower etc . I walked past the door several times and said to June he would be asleep in seconds . This m/ing he was up had a shower before I had got up. B/fast a full English with Stornaway B/pudding the plate was spilling over along with several slices of toast and he cleared the lot ( thats what we like to see a health appetite ). He used the phone to order some mog stuff that will be sent . A bit more chat as he now had a week to look around . Tom decided he wanted to see Beamish then was heading for Holy Island for the night ( we checked the tides ) . I took him about 6 mile up the road and pointed him on his way . Think he is going to drop in at the factory. The main thing is he made himself at home .
All done thanks to Talk Mog .

I am trying to get in touch with a Yorkshire chap who has been building a shall I say mature mog . Your Cheque arrived for the chrome bumpers a good while ago and is in an account ( Thank you ). But I have not heard from you since then. I dont have your e-mail phone number or address and begin to wonder are you OK . This maybe the only way I can catch your eye. If it does them give me a call you have my land line. John.

No need to apologise, that's how it's supposed to work. The threads with the most recent replies are shown first, otherwise how would anyone know you'd posted something?
A very popular set of pictures, over 42,000 views is very impressive. I'd dare say possibly holds the record?
