The Temperature Control Knob on my 2009 4/4 sport will not reduce the heat when rotated. Does this control water or air flow?
Is this a common problem, how can it be rectified ?
Advice would be appreciated.

Knob controls the water flow, you can control the air by reaching under the dash and adjusting the vents (2 each side) on the heater box. If the knob is turning on it's spindle you probably need to get behind the dash to fix

The heat control was very stiff to turn on my car. I removed the dash to lube and check the mechanism. The knob is secured with a grub screw. The cable running to the water valve needs to be checked as well, it may be broken or trapped.
