I have only had my 4/4 about 2 months. today i caught sight of a picture of my car in my office. i realised if it continues to rain untill sunday, i will have gone 2 weeks without driving her.the pang to drive her was just the same feeling as when i was waiting for it to be built. that tells me how much i love his car.tonight after work i went in to the garage just to stare at it, at least that made me smile.
please rain, stop for sunday afternoon, im itching to go for a aimless drive.

Why not put the hood up and go for an aimless drive in the rain, then when the weather picks up you will be cleaning your car when you should be driving it laugh

It always stops raining when I wash the car....sounds strange but why would I want to was the car when its raining???

Well I don't have to dry it grin2

Trouble is 9 out of 10 times its raining and I proceed to wash the car it stops raining and worse than that the sun comes out and its a mad mission to dry it before the sun does. frown

Then when finished it rains again.

This weather is so relentless and hugely frustrating

Had a soggy but enjoyable drive last Sunday and been to Beaminster today, with just a few showers.
Some sort of Rolls Royce owners rally in West Dorset, as we saw 7 of them, all pre-war; plus 2 Bentleys; one a Derby, and one a 3 litre Red Label.

drive

Either the Plus 8 had more ground clearance then or it has been raised with higher springs. Worth mentioning that those graded roads look to be smother than some of the sealed roads around here. And best of all: no speed humps!

I'm as fed up with this rain as the next man, but to be honest I really don't see that a bit of rain is sufficient reason not to drive one's Morgan.

Sure, a Mog with the hood down is a wonderful place to be, but a Mog with the hood up is also pretty cool. Yes, they leak, but it's only water, it'll dry out. Human skin is totally waterproof, so you won't actually get really wet.

The best mods I made to my car to make driving in the rain more of a pleasure were to firstly get a zip-out rear window in the hood to increase ventilation, and secondly to install an additional valve in the heater return pipe so I could completely isolate the heater matrix from the rest of the coolant - it means you don't get a buildup of unnecessary heat in the cabin.

I'm a great fan of hood up Mogging, I seldom have the hood down when there is an 'r' in the month smirk2 I clocked up 1000 miles last weekend and there wasn't one occasion where I felt inclined to lower the roof either too wet/ too buffetty/ too dark etc smile
