Your Mexico brings back a nasty memory my mate bought a home made one as we had become rally nuts in the early 70s . He did not insure it for what it was and one January night 71 he was stonking along the old A19 came to a bit of ice and took off cleared a 4ft fence into a deep ravine with a stream . He was able to crawl out climb up the hill and if there is a God he was out on patrol that night as his next door neighbour was going past started work at midnight she was a nurse . Threw him into her car and took him straight to hospital . I went to his place of work the next day to be told this and told to go and see his car . After looking around returned to be told go down into the wood . Very little of his car remained . While in hospital a long time I had to take his clothes in he would change in the loo go out to the pub and then return to the hospital to change back into his pyjamas . He had no claim and the insurance company quiet correctly refused to pay up. Funny that, i have a similar story from the 80s. me in my RS2000, 1 mate in a Harrier, other in BDA 1800 Mexico, beautiful car, i went round the pond in Thornton-le-dale, the harrier friend followed, the Mexico friend went in the pond, luckly only his pride hurt, we got it straight out with some big tow vehicle about midnight with the local bobby probably still asleep or chasing sheep russellers

The old (original) GT40 is too small..... Very difficult for anyone tall to get into. But the Ford GT made in 2005 is perfect.

For that Ronin moment around the Peripherique I'd have a big Citroen, XM or C6

No Gilbern G? Mmm. That reminds me, a Gordon Keeble should hav been on my list (local build, big engine, drop dead gorgeous). Actually, generically I think an exotic european with massive american V8 has to be on the list. Gordon Keeble, Jensen, Bristol, de Tomaso, Facel Vega. In one of Gavin Lyall's novels he featured a facel vega which he described as being like the perfect woman...."French body with an american engine"
Giles. Mogless in Paris.
