Thanks Jays I'll look into that. All other cars I've owned have felt a little "free er" with non paper air filtration. Thanks Bob:)

I fitted one to my 1992 4/4 CVH efi engined .... As the car was in need of use due to previous owners doing low miles I am unsure if the filter had an effect on performance or just the car responding to use generally, and a loosening up effect. I think the original filter was from a Rover engined source. I simply measured it and found the same dimensioned K&N as a repalcement.

Horoko I have a K & N filter on 1987 4/4. Pictures below. The only slight mod, apart from changing the carb jets which were supplied with instructions, is the oil breather. I made a connector to the filter o/o a copper heating tee 15mm to 22mm. Cut the 22mm in half and flatten the remainder which is clamped in place by the top and bottom of the filter case. I believe K & N do a similar piece but I could not obtain one. I haven't bothered with a hot air feed from above the exhaust manifold and this has been no problem. http://s1066.photobucket.com/albums/u401/keitha7/

I've put my 135bhp CVH up for sale if anyone wants a real power hike. See the classified's.
I've also got a blue printed cross hatched head complete with new Webber DMTL 34/34 Carb and K&N filter as you show. It also has solid lifters for higher RPM's and a Vernier cam wheel. It comes with a Ali Ford Motorsport rocker cover with breather.

I keep looking at the K&N filter, mainly from an aesthetic point of view, cos the big black airbox on my cvh is pretty ugly.(and I's like to hear a bit more induction roar. I have read about possible freezing in cold weather - are you saying this isnt a problem in the morgan? I use my car all year so cold weather issues would be a nuisance - Also does water pouring in through the louvres in heavy rain or when washing? Also, does anyone know if the K&N part number quoted by cereal at the top of the thread is the correct one for my '88 cvh

I have just brought one of the above filters to fit to my 84 CVH. The kit no longer comes with any carb jets so will have to source these seperately. In the Rutter catalogue they show a CVH with K&N and another small filter on the rocker cover breather.Does anyone know the number of this one as it looks like a good way to go? Many Thanks

Many Thanks Where did you get it from?, the pic on the K&N website for the filter for 1984 xr2 clearly shows the jets on the pic. (56-9015) I just had the kit for the lean burn cvh for my '88 delivered, it has one jet included edit: I just had a close look at the pic, and what I assumed were jets may not be. Maybe burtonpower can provide the jets

I used the chromed brass fitting for a wardrobe rail fitted into the filter and the breather pipe is an interference fit. It saved drilling a hole in the filter. All you need to do is to measure the gap between upper and lower plates and find a fitting of the same diameter - the one I found had an internal diameter to match the breather pipe. It has not moved yet in 4 years. Mike Duncan supplied the new jet.
