Six months on, has anyone heard anything more about Eva? (or should it now be "Maggie")

Would be nice if the factory could update us. Dare I ask - has anyone been tempted to request their deposit be refunded.....?

I've just received (most of) an update from Mark Ledington at MMC including the option for a deposit refund.

I say 'most of' because it did not format correctly. I'll try to cut and paste in a separate post.............

Let's see if this works..............

Dear MrMr Marshall

EvaGT Update – May 2012

Since we communicated with you last, progress on the EvaGT project has been moving along rapidly in several areas:

Chassis Development:

An innovative and elegant chassis structure has been developed with detail design currently underway. This chassis has been developed to withstand current and future global crash test requirements. Also, the chassis structure allows it to be easily transferred between vehicles, offering both a two and a four seat platform made out of either Magnesium (as reported previously, offering a 30% weight saving compared to Aluminium) or Aluminium (still a lightweight solution, but more cost effective).

Material Properties:

Extensive material testing has been undertaken with some very interesting results. A favoured Magnesium alloy has been selected and we are now ready to move into the first crash test simulation programme. These initial simulation results will be invaluable in the detailed design of the chassis structure.

Exterior Styling:

Morgan’s design team are continually developing the external design of the EvaGT. While the stunning design of the Pebble Beach concept car wowed the crowds, it will need a thorough refresh before vehicle launch. This will guarantee the EvaGT embodies the latest in automotive design.

Safety Systems Development

The initial crash simulation work will also mark the start of the safety system development. Using the crash “pulse” generated in the simulations and initial physical crash test work, the latest Continental safety hardware will be tailored to suit the needs of Morgan.

These exciting developments have led to the previously reported delays in the vehicle launch. We wish to apologise to all customers for this delay and can offer our assurance that the final product will be ground breaking and well worth the wait.

However, if any customer would prefer not to wait and would prefer a model from our current range, do contact our sales office as incentives may be available to EvaGT depositors.

Alternatively, we would be pleased to refund your deposit in full if preferred.

Best Regards,

Mark Ledington

I was going to Plum for the Eva GT, thinking a Max would never come my way, however when i contacted Mark mid 2011, he suggested a build date of 2014, putting me well past my 50th so no big 50years gift to myself there, with all the niggles they will have; to get that car right, i think il order for my 60th give them a little time to iron things out !!!!! stirpot

Well I'm already at the 'prime' of my fifties (and unfortunately the second prime in the series 53, 59) so I'll reluctantly have to throw in the towel. May someone less chronologically challenged than myself enjoy it (and not forget where they parked it).

looks like some one from Morgan was reading this thread.
I to got the email and yes it was formatted a little strange had to cut and paste it in to word.
being in my 30's I hope to have the car by my 60's maybe if a few others drop out I will move up the waiting list. however would be nice to know what incentives they will give on alternative cars.

I hope that when the do release the car they will sell it at the original guide price (£65k) for those who put a deposit down then up the price to what they want to sell it at which I guess will be £100k+

Well the next prime is not so far off, 61.

Don't give up though. I bought my Plus 4 as a 65th birthday present to myself and I usually remember where I have parked it.
