Thinking of keeping the tradition going, what about when you get to the era that has never seen a greece gun nor knows where it goes to do its job !!!!! scarey i thinks.

yet again the DIY man is mentioned, a milkman came to me once, said he couldnt get greece through greece nipples on Austin van, turns out he was trying to greece all the brake bleeder valves oops

Milkman? (Down south we all buy our milk from Waitrose) That dates the story even more than 'Austin Van' laugh Proper mechanics are also an endangered species, most garages now employ ' technicians' whose main purpose in life is to charge £200 for changing the oil and charge another £200 for ticking the same boxes that they have just ticked on the MOT

Good question.

In the past, buyers purchased Morgans to approximate a vintage experience, made credible as the cars had not modernized since the 1930s.

You would be wrong to equate vintage simplicity with low performance. Anything but. A car will to do far more with driver skill and interaction than technology. There is still a large school who believe that technology's goal is to lower the need for skill and broaden the sports car market for profit..with unhappy consequences to the sport.

Morgan simplicity used to encourage owner interaction with the cars. There are many anologies in other sports, but riding is as good as any. Do you know of a world class equestrian academy that does not require every student to physically care for their steed? Shoveling manure is thought to be a necessary part of becoming an accomplished rider. It is needed more frequently than Morgan greasing. Yet both tasks have the same goal.

As I have posted here before at the Classic Car show last November, the staff on the Morgan stand said Morgan had been given a grant to develop new front suspension for the Trad.

They did not believe the grant covered the rear suspension.

I am intrigued (amazed) that they can obtain a grant...surely any improvement could only lead to a 'modern' suspension system isn't that what other manufacturers already have??

Mulfab have already developed an impressive looking double wishbone system which I saw when I visited. I think it may be the same thing as fitted to the blue Plus 8 (Librands?).
