If you have an imported car, you seem to avoid the massive road tax thing. The Ford GT, which has millions of carbons (or something) costs the same as Focus. It's cows, algae and volcanoes that we should be taxing. Mankind is responsible for a fraction of one per cent of 'greenhouse gasses'. It's just legalised theft to tax on this basis. Ho hum!

Algae absorb Carbon dioxide in photosynthesis. Cows produce methane which is 80 x more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. Volcanoes produce many gases. Mercury is not a gas but chucked out by volcanoes. rice growing in paddy field also produces methane. A small increase from 0.03% carbon dioxide to 0.04% can have a dramatic effect on climate.

. A small increase from 0.03% carbon dioxide to 0.04% can have a dramatic effect on climate. CO2 is a great airborne fertilizer aiding additional plant growth and causes plants to need less water. I'm afraid I don't buy into the Great Green Tax Scam.... Taxing this small population when new coal fired stations are coming on line every week in China (for example) is completely pointless. 'Additional Charges' such as the first year loading on road tax is another stealth tax... Don't even get me going on Stamp Duty.

I agree about China making changes to tax here pointless, but we need to be seen to be scientific when discussing it!

Then we should be tackling the whole life environmental cost of vehicles, not jut the 6% or so that exits the exhaust pipe The present method is just an excuse for revenue raising... Cheers,

Can delivery charges on a new Morgan be avoided by opting to pick up the car directly from the factory rather than getting it liveried to the dealer

Hells bells guys, what a waste of time. You crunch the numbers and if they fit then you go ahead and buy one.If they don't, you don't Why waste time speculating on things you can't change. Bit of self- indulgence ain't it?
