Hi all,
My Plus 8 is build in 1992 and has some gearbox troubles. Doesn't get into second when warm, Probably a worn syncro and fith gear is hard to find.
What type would it be; the R380 or the LT77 ?
And maby some of you know the right adres to have it fixed or buy a reconditioned one??
thx.
paul

LT 77 box was used by Land Rover upto 1994. Common fault is thrust washer breaking making 1st to 2nd shift difficult. Ashcroft Transmissions would be my first call.

Yup, and probably slightly later by Morgan.
Easy way to tell is the location of reverse gear - left and forward is LT-77, right and back (behind 5th) is R380...
And yes, the synchro on 2nd is weak - I had a 200Tdi Disco where synchro had failed, double declutching gave a faster change anyway...
I'd second the Ashcroft option...

Cheers,
