Your impressions gave me the power to wait this few months and I'm glad to get my Roadster in October...

I already had a dashboard designed for my new Roadster and ordered a MK dash. But as I was informed Morgan will change engine and ECU, I spoke again with MKl. He exactly told me the same as Quicksilver posted. So, decided to order a walnutdash without any changing on the electrical parts...

I've also been in touch with MK, so he knows there are customers waiting for him... smile

What would it be about the CAN Bus system that would be an issue for him? Creating a mini extension loom? I assume if the same dials were used, the dash could be swapped....?

I think that's the main issue. Most people want dials more like the traditional sort.
Also, extending or altering the CAN bus could possibly affect the rest of the bus.

Having gone through a my beloved 2009 “Centenary” Plus 4 love and a short “flirt” with a nice 2010 Roadster S III innocenti ordered the new Roadster 3,7 as one of the first – not actually exactly knowing what i´d be facing on delivery. call

But I have been sure all the time since, it was supposed to be something very special. sherlock

To say it rightaway: it turned out I had been oh SO right. thumbs

When I took delivery of my new car at the factory last week (a big “thank you” to all the helpful & always –erm, most of them most of the time at least… carrot- friendly Staff at Malvern!) after some really nerve-wrecking loooooooooooooong weeks of waiting I must say it has been worth every grey hair it has caused me. oldgit

It´s simply a superbe car! Thank you “MMC”! cheers

To tell a long story short: it really is “Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde” in one. Or “the beauty & the beast”… love

Or just think of big beautiful white cat (Hi @ Simon & Dr.Blofeld somestick ), contendly purring being gently stroked sitting on your laps – that´s exactly how the new Roadster feels like when driving it the cruiser-style. Deep grumble, loads of torque from the lowest revs (even 35 mp/h in 6th gear at only slightly lifted idle allows the car pulling off with ease…) and sooo smoooooooth.. hippy (perfect persuasion-mode for SWMBO´s... love)

But be well PREPARED to free the car´s other ( & VERY entertaining…!) face… the roaring tiger – as soon as you floor your right foot in proper gear & proper revs… make sure the road in front of you is wide (enough), flat (enough) & gives your pitiful rear tyres sufficient grip to transmit the now started (positive) inferno to the tarmac! evil ( definetely NOT the right persuasion-mode for SWMBOs!!!!! swmbo)

The car is VERY willing to rev, pulls not only with almost insolent ease, but with real eager lust – no end in sight, up to now… only feeling pity for the poor rear tyres & the tarmac beneath them will make you lift your right foot (or running out of enough proper open road…). woohoo

Handling is surprisingly well balanced & already sorted out quite well – car doesn´t feel as “front-weighted” than it´s successor & is astonishingly well balanced over all. Gearchange is very precise, nice & smooth, 1st is rather “short”, 6th rather “long (only ca. 1.750 rpm at 100km/h) – but suits the engine´s capabilities in such a light car well. With the “fat” 205/65-15 tyres it rolls as smooth and responds nicely (I have to admit I ordered “some” Aero Racing upgrades..) – track days here we come… drive flag uk

Even the instruments didn´t turn out THAT unbearable – good to read & can turn off a lot of all the gizmos… laugh2

Having covered about 1.100 miles since collection on as well i.e. UK single track roads through the scenic Cotswolds as German Motorways I feel almost “at home” in my new car. It proved to be an absolutely relaxed “easy driver” as well as the described beast – if you are well prepared to control it…..

I´ve never ever driven such a well-balanced and so fantastically meaty performer, may be aside the magnificent Plus 4 SuperSports – but that´s another story and better told by the 60 lucky owners worldwide envy

THIS amazing stuff is available right to everybody off your local Morgan dealer – and trust me: it´s worth every single Pound & weeks of waiting for!

So Ladies & Gentlemen: take your chances…

But better keep in mind before teasing the beast: this is not one for faint hearted….

Jochen, I really enjoyed your latest write up of the new Morgan Roadster 3.7 - whilst I am yet to drive one, I have only heard glowing reports from all those who have.

Enjoy your new Morgan thumbs
