What's most impressive is that, according to the clock in your dash, you accomplished this transformation in just 8 minutes!! Well done.

In Germany we would say "thank you for the flowers). But to be honest it took me an hour because I had to "build" two new switch from the old ones and the replacements. But it seems that I only need 8 minutes for a foto and the disconnecting of the dashboard. When am I am working at the dashboard I always separate it from the car. That is really a 10-minutes-job (3 plugs and 4 screws).

Very nice, Keith. Definitely in keeping (not coloured, and with chrome rims), but without changing the functionality. Where did you order them from, and where did you get the machine-turned backplate?

Backplate was a prototype from Simmonds. I saw it on an advert some time ago and asked for one and he explained that it had not gone into production but he said I could try his prototype out. It was OK but slight revision (by me) to the fixing holes where it attaches at the back as not sure they are (were) standard and duly reported back. But yes I was pleased with the result so contact him and see if he plans to manufacture them. It is very good quality with a plastic type of covering that protects the 'turned' effect (to his usual high quality!) The switches came from Matthias Kauffelt ( www.holztechnik.de) and cost approx. € 40 incl. postage (not sure if these are new or from replacement dashboards). They are not a 'simple' swap as you have to use some components from the new switch (fronts) and the original ones. These switches are for post 2004 cars but the 'components' are compatible, so do fit. I intend to document exactly how it was done shortly and have it available as a download. My thanks to '4acker' for his assistance through the process and his inspiration to resolve this long yearned for solution. I am really chuffed with the results! Perhaps the MK Column switches and Allon White leather covered steering boss will complete the project!

Hello Keith, well done. In my eyes the old yellow, red and green switches look like bus or tramway. According to EOA's homepage they were intended for this use. But the new chrome ones are really an optical improvement for me.
