Guys, after some 2.5k miles over the last 2 weeks in the Roadster, I have found I do not like the wooden steering wheel and prefer the leather one I have in the 86 4/4. I can’t swap them as there different. Does anyone happen to know whether I can get a leather one for the Roadster 2005. I do not like the look of the original it came with. I have looked at some sites to no avail. Many thanks.

Good morning Abbo, I had that same trouble with my wheel. I found that by binding the rim with paracord it was much more pleasant to handle and gave a very good grip. Plenty of colours to match your taste but a bit of a fiddle to carry out. It seemed to me that the diameter of the rim of the wooden wheel was too small to be comfortable for a long journey - must have become used to modern cars.

Thanks jrd, I found a site while hunting around. I to am probably use to the larger diameter wheel e.g. the one I had from my dads + 8 when he had a moto lita fitted back in 93. The grip feels better and less feedback. I found this site I will most likely ponder on. http://www.sheepskinoutlet.net/page/446493598

Morning Abbo.......is it the wood rimmed MotoLita you have fitted? If so, you should be able to get a leather rimmed version to fit the existing boss. An alternative, if you don't mind spending some money is the wheel that Steve Simmons makes. Simmonds

MotoLita can change wood to leather and leather to wood if dont want to purchase another wheel. I found the wooden MotaLita "too skinny" on my Roadster and Phil Ledgerwood fitted the leather covered MotaLita, which is very comfortable and a much "chunkier" grip.

I've had one woodrim wheel on my 1970 Midget. I found it too hard and too slippery in hot weather, so black leather for me every time.

Elsewhere on this site others have advised the use of gloves with the wooden steering wheel. I am not a fan of gloves, so a leather wheel for me.

That is the one I want to get Nick, but do they still do them as they have disappeared from their adverts & website. Think it would look great in Tan leather. Bob:)
