I found my first leak today
I fixed it
Only temporary at the moment. Cables passing through the bulkhead on the offside go though a grommet which doesn't seal because of the bunch of different bits of loom. Water gets in (I think) via the side louvres & blows onto the grommet. As a result, water runs along the cables & drips onto the loud pedal foot
I've stuck a couple of pieces of duct tape over cables & grommet & so far no more wet feet! I'll now see about something more permanent.
So far (about 800 miles) it's averaged about 31 mpg, which is better than my old mk1 Roadster, although I expect it will drop as it runs in & I get heavier boots
The starting problem seems to have gone away, but I'm keeping my bit of magic wire in the glove compartment, just in case...
Steering is a lot easier than when new. The car does feel more secure on the road than the old one, which I put down to alloys instead of wires.
Got a couple of marks on the inside of the hood. I've been trying to keep it clean, as the last one got filthy & I could never get it clean. Anyone any suggestions for cleaning the inside of mohair hoods?
On the subject of hoods, this one is a much better fit than the last one, and a lot quieter.

) the wipers stopped parking. Then stopped working in anything but full speed or single wipe. As it wasn't parking, I reckoned it must be a loose connection, & sure enough, the plug at the wiper motor was loose. There's nothing to hold it in, so a cable tie put paid to it's little games
