Jays, thats a lot better, will be interesting to see the second set of figures when they come out. My money would be that the remap is the big player, the rest less so but its the money maker for the dealers. michael

Thanks Jays, I was not sure what else you had done and it appears there are a few of us keen to solve the "lean" issue.

Mogsport sent me similar charts for the Plus 4. I visited them last year and I have to say they seem very helpfull and pleasant to do business with. So far, apart from the sports exhaust system, our car is standard but I wish I lived a bit closer so that I could have them tweek it a little.

today I gad a few hours and made a few calls, 1st to Morgan to see if they had any information on upgrades, well that was a total waste of time, second to a few dealers who have been named on this site. I was not impressed by their answers at all, figures just got called out but with nothing to back up the statments at all.
will keep looking, michael

Terry....the problem with approaching the dealers is that they will only fit the approved Aero Racing throttle body kit. There seems to be nothing out there for the 4/4 Sigma engine apart from exhaust systems and ITG/KN filters although RPM up in Perth do a revised filter and intake. It is frustrating as Caterhams use the same engine and there is plenty of tuning available for them but I'm told that the ECU interface with the Morgan is a problem unless using stuff specifically programmed for the Morgan. The kit from Aero Racing is expensive but the price is going to come down with the new development by Omex and the kit does also include revised plumbing for the engine, loom and a complete new throttle pedal assembly as it switches from drive by wire to cable. As soon as I get mine done i'll do a comprehensive report with dyno charts.

I had a good look round to see what can be done to the 4/4 Duratec and got the same responses. Decided to make the most of what is there and hope I don't run out of talent.

Jay, and Hook, thanks again for getting back. as I said at the very start I don,t think it any good just spending money without first seeing the results. even caterham who I have spoken to are only getting an extra 20 pounds of torgue from their 175 bhp engine, maybe there is a better way out there for a more heavy car like the morgan, michael

Hi guys

I found this: SC Morgan 4/4 Sport Upgrade Kit. www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150824454380285.733406.441656335284&type=3

Maybe it can be of interest?

Seem's poor to me...
I have a race turn out silencer, standard cat and manifold, and stock air-take with a panel K&N and make 133BHP.. Oh yes I have now rapped the top air intake tube with Cool-It Thermo Shield Tape and moved the air intake duct to the grill with a Revotec Rectangular Intake Duct With Stepped Outlet zip tied to the grill. Gives a ram cold air induction, you do notice the difference with weather conditions as you speed up the engine pulls better, this cannot be replicated on the dyno I wish I could to see the difference in power. I have done some old fashioned plug chopping and all looks good so I'm not worried about fuel/air ratios.

When I spoke to AT Power direct they were talking 160+ by raising the rev limit and 190 with a cam, I would also have to fit headers and a free flow cat.

At the moment I am working on a new intake manifold and filter system and Ram air system to see if I can squeeze some more bhp out on the stock throttle body , I will book some dyno time to check how I get on. Then the headers and cat will come and another dyno run!!

thanks Pemler, so this is what i have found out so far, Morgan have given figures of 5bhp and 4 lpft at 7000 rpm, and 4 bhp and 6 lbft at 3500 rpm for the sports manifoid and catalyst. at nearly a £1000 pounds that is not a lot more power. the throttle body kit gives a lot more BHP at around 35 bhp more and around 15 lbft more. to get these figures you will need to spend just under £4000 for the kit and then the exhaust on top. so that works out at nearly a 5th of the cost of the car.this is way to expensive for the return. michael
