Hello Graham,
yes. Leica still produces the M7 and the MP. Both also as a la carte version that means widely customized. I bought a used M6 which I did not use very much to be honest. It was for my father who don't like the M8. The M6 was bought at Ebay. M6s are "cheap" compared with M6TTL and M7. Hopefully it will last as long as our old IIIs which are now over 70years old. M Leicas are now more expensive than R Leicas because of the M8 and M9 but the prices for R lenses also rises since they could be used with asian digital cameras. Only R bodies (with R6 and R9 as exceptions) and zooms are forbidden low in price.
I do not have the luck with a good laboratory nearby. The prints directly from my last 6x6 colour film were very bad. Afterwards I digitalised the negatives and sent them again to the same laboratory with a visible better result confused. Now I use my Habla only for b/w and make my own prints.

Keep mogging

Christian

I wonder what prices are for the MP? I have one that's hardly been used and have often wondered if I should keep it or sell it..... I so rarely use film these days.

Hi Christian,

My lab does mail order, but to send to UK will probably be expensive (http://www.the-darkroom.co.uk/index.html).

I probably have too many cameras ( swmbo would say I do laugh2 ), but I love photography - got that from my father I guess. He let me use his camera on the ferry back from Ireland one year - it was my 12th birthday. I think there were only 6 slides or so left on the film, but I did my best! Several of my cameras are Rangefinders (medium format + the Xpan). Not bothered about Leica Rs, have a pair of Nikon F3s and various lenses, which are pretty good. Finding the right M is still an ambition smile

Neilda, no idea what an MP is worth used. May be worth asking one of the Leica specialists what it might fetch in a private sale?

We seem to have taken over Axel's car photo thread... Maybe we should have a photographic discussion section somewhere on here?? grin2

Cheers,

Cheers,

Graham,

No worries, I like to follow your discussion, as I love my Leica!

I have a M7 and I always thought I would stick with film. Than I got my hands on the M9 a year ago. And I enjoy my old Leica lenses even more now.

Bye

Axel

Hello Graham,
I think we are buddies in mind according Morgan and cameras. I also have to many cameras.(3 Leicas, 503 CW, Minox 35GT and LX)
Right now I also do not what a MP is worth but personally I would go the "cheaper way" an by a later M4 or M6 (without TTL). Still good cameras and reasonable priced. I bought most of my younger (according to my ownership) Leica stuff at Ebay. Here in Germany we have some good repair shops for mechanical cameras. Often repairs are not very expensive. Only Leica themselve is a "little bit" more expensive (standard price 500€ upwards).

BR
