Hi, I am thinking about buying a soft bag to attach to the luggage rack of my 4/4 Sport when travelling and came across http://www.boot-bag.com/morgan.htmAny Morganeer out there using this bag and sharing his opinion?

At least one on here, reading a post of using it for Le Mans Classic... They'll be along shortly no doubt!

Wilhelm, I've been using a BootBag with my 4/4 for the past year, and I am very happy with it. It is very strongly made and has plenty of straps to secure it to your luggage rack- it even comes with a large piece of soft rubber mat, which would be used to protect the paint on a car without a rack (MGB,TR4 etc). There is also a detachable shoulder strap to help with carrying the bag into your hotel. The zip has two sliders, which could be secured with a small lock to prevent casual tampering. I hope you find these comments useful in making your choice. Best wishes, Gerry.

Wilhelm,
We got one earlier this year for a 2,500 mile round trip from Scotland to France, and it was great. We had 1 day of torrential rain and it kept everything dry. As Gerry said, it's well made, it's also quick and easy to attach which minimised the time taken to re-pack the car.
The one comment I would have is that it doesn't have a solid floor so we needed put a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the bag otherwise it sagged through the bars of the luggage rack.

After seeing that, I wish I'd bought one rather than the Morgan suitcase - it's horribly heavy and doesn't hold as much as you'd think...looks natty, though :-)

Hello A110Ge, thanks, but I had looked at the HillsAlive bags (you may notice that I started the other thread as well). They look nice, but are also pricey. I have found another solution. Actually a simple sports bag did the job Now I am looking for an extra bag to be put on the luggage rack. Even so some of the leather suit cases look really nice and give the car a period look, I prefer to have a more flexible and less heavy solution. I will give the Boot Bag a try.

Coming back she managed to fill all available spaces in the car with shopping and food. Next Morgan I buy I will ask them to build me a small truck either that or fit 4 seater springs to the rear of the car.

How safe is it. It doesn't appear lockable?
