Are the universal joints fairly easy to change on an S1, at 47k miles mine are getting intrusive whenever I turn left?

George, I thought the factory had replaced almost the whole car since you have had it.

You can get a similar noise to uj wear if the wheel nut on opposite side to turn is slightly loose; in your case right hand side. Worth checking it's correctly torqued up.

You were correct the wheel nut had worked loose, wheels torqued up correctly with no noise, apart from the n/s wheel bearing that needs replacing!

Glad it's sorted. Took me nearly 2 years to work it out during which time I replaced half axles!
