A quick heads up for these clear lenses (with bulbs) that can be bought from SVC, who supply all sorts of specialist car lighting. They are the genuine article and half the price of the Simmonds clear lenses. I saw they did the orange indicators, so emailed to ask if they could supply clear, and they have now added it to their webpage.

Look about half way down the page:

And these MAY fit, at £1.35 each for the lenses; I'm still working on indicator LEDs....

By the way Nigel, have you thought about swapping your 'yellow-ish' sidelights to white.....thread and pictures here

The lenses are actually 'Reversing Lamp' units; how a certain gentleman gets away with charging the price he does for them is beyond me. And that's without the p&p !

Paul, getting Access denied on your thread. What 'yellowish' side light are you refering to?

The Simmonds units looked very expensive to me. SVC is selling the correct Lucas L794 lenses for less than half that, guaranteed to fit, and the bulbs included. £24 delivered isn't bad.

You could also put them on the back, with coloured bulbs. Personally I prefer the red and orange lenses at the back.

If the £1.35 ones in Paul's post did fit, they swouldn't look quite right - I think they are identical to the ones on a Land Rover.

Yes - "Plastic lens in red, amber & clear. Replacement lenses for CL0591 complete with captive fixing screws. Direct replacement for the original equipment fitted to Land rover, the original Mini and many cars that use these ubiquitous lights. Lens Ø 67mm."

As posted on the LED thread - a picture of one standard, and three LED sidelights.

Changed wing mounts first, colour goes very well with the chrome but makes lower two look very yellow in comparison so swapped these as well.

Effect is more apparent in 'real life'; others who have seen the fully changed front end have been quite impressed. BHM are very interested in these, and the three rear 'red' ones.

Paul - I rang Ultraleds - the red rear stop/tail lamps are out of stock.

Robert - what lenses are those? They aren't L794 - more "pointy" - though they do look good. Where did you get them? And where did you get the mountings - are they stainless, or chrome?

Poot! Hopefully not too long a delay before new stock arrives; if you want a copy of my notes (on Excel) just PM an email address.
