2/3 of a Jag 6 cyl vs 1275 a-series lump
Probably about 100lbs difference ... in favour of the a-series.

Race Cooper S about 130bhp .... race E-Type (short 1/3 of its cylinders and 1/3 of of its 400 bhp) 260 bhp .... double the power for 100lbs weight gain .... can see why you'd have a go .... however racecars are all about all the elements balancing .... not a clue how the Jag/Mini fared in the results back in the day but my gut says ill-handling monster 🙂

Ps ... all just fag-packet calculations 🙂 .... I wonder if someone remembered this when Jag made the V6 by deleting 2 pots of the V8 🙂
