I don't know if this is been found previously but I found this film produced by Shell of the 1952 race on U Tube.
A real period piece of course and in monochrome , but fascinating nevertheless.
The race was of course a Mercedes first and second after the Talbot driven by Pierre Levegh solo, stopped in the last hours.
The sharper eyed among might spot a famiiar profile near the back of the field at the start and at approx 11m 48 sec in, its untimely demise . This Morgan +4 didn't even make it to the first refuelling stop. I think it was Charles Neal who said "not their finest hour"
