While part of me agrees with the idea of racing is to win, and history records a fair bit of cheating may have taken part in the process of winning, I guess it is all part of the "sport" ?
I seem to remember one competitor in the US studied the rule book carefully on fuel tank capacity, and decided his engine required more fuel to finish the race, thus dramatically increased the diameter of the fuel line in places...
