It surely can't be anything that difficult to diagnose/fix.
If it were a simple fix, surely the trader would have sorted it and potentially made more money?
A late GDI but depending on mileage, could be valve issues due to excessive carbon build up on backs ofvalves?

Even so there's still plenty of meat left on the bone to get that issue resolved compared to current trade prices. Glad I've got a Duratec/Mazda combination. I would take a reader along to see what error codes exist.
