That's why I can't be arsed with the original string brakes on my 1933 JAP Super Sports.

I'm running 7" Morris Minor twin leading shoe front brake plates, FIAT 500 brake drums and Colin Wilson cast steel sliders.

Keeping the rear more or less standard but with a floating brake cam (ex Ewan Cameron)

Whole design was checked by my pal Steve Hughes who knows a bit about braking systems!
