I grew up on the Isle of Wight but had never taken the M3W there until recently when a school reunion and forecasted good weather gave me the nudge I'd been waiting for. I hadn't visited for some years and was pleasantly surprised at how well surfaced the roads were (as they used to be truly dreadful). Said roads were fairly quiet too. The only catch is the £200 cost of the ferry which is quite steep for 40 minutes each way I reckon...

Looking out along the South West coast towards the Needles.

And a bit closer towards Freshwater.

Managed to make this little girl's day. Her father approached me to ask if he could take a photo of her with the car as she was named Morgana! Obviously, I was happy to oblige.

Taken from the top of Culver Down, looking out over the Solent with Portsmouth in the distance.

Car behaved itself impeccably for the whole trip apart from developing (another) problem with one of my tubeless Turrino wheels necessitating a trip to the air pump each day. doh
