It seems logical that the MMC has to move with the times...
It seemed logical after WW2. Hasn't Morgan only survived this long by defying logic?
I have a distant memory of the CEO of Honda once saying something like, eventually there will only be one car manufacturer in the world, oh, and Morgan
If I remember correctly, it was actually the founder, Soichiro Honda, and the quote was supposed to be "In the future, there will be just half a dozen car companies – and Morgan."
For awhile, Honda were a client I worked with and at the time they were early pioneers of EV tech. They had released the Honda Insight; if memory serves it was circa £17,000 new (in 2000) and Honda were still supposedly losing around £5,000+ per vehicle. However, they had patented 300+ components that related to the EV systems and they had hoped that these would be licences by other car companies; therefore, they would benefit in the long term.
An interesting company and one that has both adapted with the times as well as making some incredible vehicles.
