Richard, was well used to fault finding on digital systems. Yup it is so much quicker and simpler to scan a selection of needles than to take time to read digits and assess the situation each instrument might be relaying.. I likewise rarely look at dials while driving. only occasionally reading one or perhaps two to confirm all is well, generally oil pressure and water temp, less likely to look at voltage unless I have concerns... No argument rom me in terms of the digital advances in technology and the advantages made possible, increasing the ease of use and convenience factor of doing so.... it is when things go wrong and even the "experts" seem unable to resolve what can be the most simple of causes, and at great expense, that my Luddite tendencies cause me to twitch somewhat...(-:
