... but no old, bold shocks!

A bit of a long story, but last Autumn I purchase a 10k mile 2012 M3W which was still rocking its (presumably) original Suplex shocks.
The ride has never been great since I purchased it but I have never driven another one to compare.

I was not really in the position to be able to justify blowing £2.5k on a set of ohlins, but fortunately I was saved by "Dab of Oppo" who had a set of adjustable Spax going cheap. I heard many bad stories about the spax so i was a bit wary about using them. However when I swapped the fronts shocks to the spax the difference was amazing. I swas shocked. Then I swapped the rears over (which to my knowledge had no leaks). This was also transformable. Its impossible to convey hopw much better the M3W is now... except, my ass no longer leaves the seat when driving over bumps at speed!

Anyway, the lessons Iearned today are...
A) 14 year old shocks could well be dead even if they have done low milage
B) You don't need to take out a mortgaged to get a good ride on a M3W
c) Spax generally get bad press on the M3W, I don' think this is justified. yeah I dare say ohlins are better but £2.5k better/
