I am aware that the factory had to adjust the fit of each hardtop to any Morgan they supplied with one - in other words, you cannot simply move a hardtop from one Morgan to another without fettling. Therefore, as an aftermarket part, they are not as simple as one size fits all!
With that said, does anyone know of a company or individual offering aftermarket hardtops for classic Morgans?
Like many, I have often fancied the idea of a hardtop, but quickly realised that to get a really nice fit and finish you'd have to make them bespoke to the car, otherwise you'd inevitably end up with big gaps around the doors and a tricky fit to the windscreen.
I can easily see why nobody wants to make them, you'd never be able to charge a sensible amount for the finished product, there would just be too many man-hours involved to get them right.
It's not just the fit of the hardtop but where and how you store it when it's not in use. I recall many years ago someone who was selling a damaged hardtop something had dropped on it in storage.
