Waverley the last passenger paddle steemer in the world came into Tenby yesterday afternoon on passage to Milford Haven, she caused quite a stir and looked resplendent.

Blimey. What is it with modern super yacht design, it seems the more you spend the uglier they get. Still, at an estimated running cost of $10 to $25m/year, it's not people like me the designers are trying to tempt, so what do I know.

Remember the days when Billionaires spent their wealth by founding schools, museums, and hospitals instead of swanning around in ludicrously ostentatious gin palaces?

Milford was absolutely rafted this afternoon we had to park a mile away. She came astern from the dock wall and in a large ark in reverse was doing about 10 knots. She's on an evening cruise tonight around Caldey and leaves Milford tomorrow for Llandudno and Liverpool. There was a bit of drama this afternoon the Angle life boat was launched and took someone off who was quite ill apparently.

The Waverley is due to visit Dartmouth a couple of times this year the DHNA tell us Here We'll be looking out for her.
I remember my voyage on her many years ago to St Marys when the Scillonion broke down mid season a lovely old girl.

The Oldenburg is a fine old girl wallows a bit in the chop. If you ever go to Lundy try and pick a calm day and make a dash for the seating it's well worth a trip.

Good to see a freighter moored up midstream, they still used to bring timber into Totnes up until the 90's which we miss, just cruise liners now in a commercial sense.

What an historic moment in the Dart today at 1630 when Kingswear Castle went out of the mouth of the river to escort Waverley into port, they had never met before. I was lucky enough to sail out to St Marys on Waverley when the Scillonian broke down mid season around 20 years ago. A fantastic vessel the engine room a pure delight.

And definitely not even a knee trembler behind the bike shed
