Hi there fellow Morganeers, I am planning to fit the Cibie Mini Oscar driving/spot lamps to my Trad Roadster. I have the lamps and am advised that I can fit them using the single bracket as already fitted to the lamps. Hi kevin. The factory fit them straight on to the wings on the cx cars as on mine, I bet there will be electrolosis around the bracket in a few years. I would fit the Librands wing bracket through choice nicely made with a thick rubber gasket and three stainless allen bolts they look the part with no vibration as long as you only use the smaller cibie or oscar. I fitted a set when I had the trad slapped some tetroseal underneath and I bet they still look good. Em

Kevin, although you haven't asked I wonder if you are aware there should be existing wiring already in the main loom to accommodate auxiliary front lighting. Look for redundant blue/yellow wires under each front wing. Under the offside you may find two such wires, the second with the help of a double female bullet connector (which may already be present) loops the same feed from dash to the nearside. Each lamp will require it's own ground connection as well. Again there may be some redundant black wires under wings to provide these.

The other end of blue/yellow wire will be tucked away behind the dash although later variants after 2007 had the wire terminating in a multiway connector. As this redundant loom wiring was provided for optional front fog lamps you will need to add a relay triggered from the main beam blue/white wire (suggest intercepting this light switch cable at main loom) as well as an extra switch such that when selected to be on they will only do so when main beam on headlamps is selected. You will also need an extra fused main power feed to pin 30 on the relay although current required will be minimal given you are using LED type. If the lamps are fitted with traditional halogen bulbs they take a fair whack of amperage and you ought to use relay to avoid frying your headlamp circuit if linking into main beam

I would strongly concur with that having experienced total headlamp failure when the fuse blew on switching to main beam that was, then unknown to me, linked to the spot lamps. SWMBO who was with me wasn’t impressed.

A professionally installed relay cured the issue.
