East African Safari Rally begins on 9th and Finishes on 18th December in Kenya.
This year two new Morgan V8’s (traditional ) have been built with full roll cages and uprated suspension by a rally / offroad specialist with full
assistance of MMC
The engines are Rover V8 3.5’s on carbs with a strong rally type gearbox and Ford Escort rear axles.
Rear suspension is coil overs and up front they have managed to get 75mm of travel.
Fuel tank size has been increased to 75ltrs, front wings have been modified so they can be quickly unbolted to allow access for servicing.
Both cars have hardtops that are modified from new CX model.
The cars are flying out this week, the MAN 4x4 Ex Dakar service truck left at end of September via Ship.
Hopefully John will post some pictures I have sent him detailing the entrants who are very keen on Morgans.
