Talk Morgan Forums Thread Like Summary - 2023 Plus 6 Known Issues

I'm toying with idea of buying a 2023 Plus 6. I have read about the ongoing issues with CX-generation radiators, brakes and wipers and I was wondering if any of the problems were resolved when the 2023 models were released. All of the posts that I have seen in the CX forum are from owners who have had issues with their cars, but there must be some who have had trouble free motoring, surely. For those that have a 2023 Plus 6, are you happy with your purchase? Is the top better or worse than previous generations in wet weather?

I have a very late 2022 PlusFour, purchased new in late March 2023 and have had no problems with it till date whatsoever. Now I feel superstitious writing this down. I have had the mounting brackets of the luggage rack SS welded, but that was a precaution because some other owners had broken mounts. And, now I think, as everybody with the present fuel caps, I had problems with opening it and it was sorted out by MorganPark Hamburg while traveling to Denmark last year. but that is not CX-specific. The hood is very good, almost watertight. Wipers no problems, I have the new wipers, so not the flat ones, these really wipe....! Fingers crossed, I hope it stays this way, we have two large tours to come, to Tuscany from Holland and oner month later the Alpenstrasse...., together with one other CX (2021 PlusSix) and 2 Trads, Plus 8 and Roadster.

Yesterday was a sunny and warm day in Holland and we made a tour in our 1990 4/4 4-seater which we still have. Now I know what I like of the 4/4 and of the PlusFour. The 4/4 has a harsh ride, especially on cobblestones all the dash mounts are falling off, but you don't have to bother about speed bumps, you feel them but you have enough ground clearance. One month ago I drove partly there same traject in the PlusFour, with a far smoother ride, that is a huge difference, but the speed bumps were annoying because you had to take them slowly and sometimes diagonal, it is hard not to touch the exhaust...! And a complete different seating position in the 4/4, shoulder to shoulder a far more in from. In the CX you sit more comfortable to the back, with less room for your arm at the doorsite, with the widescreens on. But the PlusSix should have more room there. For touring long distances, the PlusFour is far more suitable!

Fair point Heinz, this of course assumes that the Morgan forum membership is reflective of the wider population of Morgan CX ownership.

Maybe its just me, but there do seem to be more especially CX Morgans and trads for sale than I've seen in a long time, it maybe reflective of the current economic climate and/ or maybe a shift in peoples priorities. There has been much research on people's changing habits and increasingly it seems people are looking for experiences rather than possessions.

It would be interesting to see the shift in how CX Morgans are financed these days compared with the past and whether PCP etc with 2/3 year terms are releasing more cars at the end of the contract, whereas in the past trad Morgans at a lower price point may have been owned outright and not financed, often in the past seen as an appreciating asset and a good place for your pension pot.
