I have to ask before I hurt myself or break something - is there a trick to removing the big nut on the RH side of the rear axle?

Over the winter, the rear brake seems to have bound so that there is drag and the rear wheel does not spin freely. I am trying to get the rear wheel off to service the brake. I’ve watched Phil Blealey’s video, but it just says remove the split pin and nut with no further detail. I’ve put all my weight on it to no avail. The hole for the split pin is still perfectly aligned with the castle nut. Do they have gorilla at the factory installing these things?

You need an extra long spanner, the longer the better, mine is 550mm long, and then brute force.

It needs a lot of tension in the spindle to get sufficient clamping force to hold it in place in the swing arm. It really wants to move out of alignment. hence the high torque.
