I'm running big fat 195/65 x 15's on the front of my 1972 4/4, and have not noticed an issue with the BRBs (which I fitted with the original wheel/tyre combo)
Changed my rear springs a few years back and fitted some BCC 5 leaf springs on the recommendation of Peter Ballard (SSL). Great improvement. Also fitted his uprated adjustable armstrong valves, and made some bumpstops from a design he sketched for me. Along wth the panhard, it massively improved the handling and ride quality.
