Talk Morgan Forums Thread Like Summary - Winter driving gloves

As I plan to drive my new CX on dry winter days (subject to availability :-) ) with the top down and probably sides off, I will need some gloves. What do others use for winter driving gloves?

Currently (c. 10°C) I'm using thin leather ones, which are adequate in summer but are starting to feel cold both through the holes on the back, and in the gap between jacket and gloves. Most driving gloves seem similar, with the holes on the back. I need something not too thick, adequately grippy (for a non-wooden wheel) and long enough that there isn't a cold spot at the bottom of my jacket.

Even better if they could be conductive so I can use a phone (when pulled up) without removing them.

Surely the tonneau was fitted by Morgan? The cover might not have been, though!

Check out Greycar and Halcyon Classic Parts. Greycar has gauntlets with cotton or wool lining. They also have some wrist warmers that are very good, prevents cold air running up your sleeve if you are wearing short gloves. Halcyon has gauntlets with cotton lining in several colours. Sizes a bit bigger than Greycar. Quality is good. I usually wear Halcyons, ok most of the time - just occasionally wollen Greycars. What I have come to like a lot is the wrist warmers, extends the use of short driving gloves. Living in a harsh climate I just have to protect myself, neither cold hands nor head are allowed to destroy a trip in the Morgan.

Trick from cycling is a pair of black silk liner gloves. Worn under fingerless leather driving gloves (or cycling mitts) they're a good economical mid-season solution, and surprisingly cosy.
