Not quite so adventurous but we have a couple of these on Lake Como. You can even hire one smile

Pissing in through just about everywhere was a deliberate LR feature ... stopped you floating away like so much modern stuff ... I love seeing over‐optimistic, hermetically sealed small saloons starting to bob gently in 18" of water! 🙂

It pisses out again just as quickly!

I did love my 110 300Tdi, but quickly learnt to remove all the carpets and felt insulation prior to any wading. I remember the dealer telling me with an almost straight face the leaks are there to let the water out again!

I recall reading somewhere that LR being concerned at the leaky nature of their vehicles, asked Toyota about how they did it with the Landcruiser. As well as discussions re their seals, Toyota advised they also test the production vehicles weekly, on each Friday evening they take a stray cat (apologies to all cat lovers) lock it in the car with all of the air vents closed. On returning on Monday morning the poor moggie was expected to have suffocated.
Great idea said LR, so the poor old Solihull mouser was locked in a Defender on the next Friday evening. When they came back on Monday they found that the cat had escaped and was asleep on the bonnet!

I do like military vehicles (I think their 'no-nonsense' singleness of purpose appeals) ... however there's only two I'd like to actually have in my fleet ... one of which is the Schwimmwagen ... which would fill the odd niche of an amphibious car nicely 🙂

The other is the Volvo Sugga command car ... looks a proper bruiser!

Graham .... despite the excrable politics, the German gear had a definite edge for style and swagger 🙂 .... when it comes to floating cars the Seep was a proper 'ugly-duckling' !

I remember once being called out a stalwart or stollie had broken down in the tank bath. We reversed a Landy into the water up to the doors and pulled it out low ratio fwd with a straight bar. What a tool they were when new. Em
